Memorial graveside services will be held Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Oak City Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Webb officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 4340 Georgetown Square, Suite 608,Atlanta, GA 30338. Dr. Major Carroll Mills of Atlanta, GA passed away peacefully on the night of February 7, 2010 surrounded by his family. Dr. Mills was born in Ozark, AL October 25, 1924 to Dr. Joseph Benjamin Mills and Ruth Carroll Mills. He graduated from Carroll High School in Ozark, The University of Alabama, and Emory Dental School. While attending school in Atlanta he met and fell in love with his future wife the former Betty Jane Wilkinson of Bainbridge, GA. After marriage they returned to his home town of Ozark where he practiced dentistry for almost forty years. He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. Joseph Benjamin Mills and Ruth Carroll Mills and two beloved sons Joseph Chason Mills and William Major Mills. Dr. Mills is survived by his loving wife of sixty two years Betty Wilkinson Mills of Atlanta and one son James Wilkinson Mills and his wife Tammy of Atlanta, two grandsons Jason Timothy Mills and his wife Kristen of Brooklyn, NY and Jeremy Ryan Mills of Atlanta, one Daughter in law Dr. Judy Hall of Maryland and one brother Oscar Mills of North Carolina. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. February 10, 2010 at Brighton Gardens in Atlanta, GA.
