Mamie Hill

Mamie K. Hill, 92, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marty Brock and Rev. C. O. Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Ed Lee, Charles Bennett, Joe Tally, Mitch Comerford, Joey McMillan and Steve Sanders serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Hill was born January 1, 1918 near Vada, GA, the daughter of Shade Knight and Ada Barfield Knight. She attended Macon School for the Blind and was a homemaker and member of Memorial Baptist Church. Her favorite thing to do was "going to ride". Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hill. Survivors include her son, Bruce D. Hill of Bainbridge, GA; her grandsons, Chris Hill and his wife Ginger and Kenny Hill and his wife Carol, all of Bainbridge, GA; and her great-grandsons, Chris Hill, Jr., Matthew Hill, Geoffrey Hill and Justin Hill.
