Margaret Elizabeth Dudley Crowson, 90, of Elkins, WV, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 at her home. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Salem Seminole Baptist Church in Desser, GA with Rev. Laddie DeRocco officiating. Interment will be in the Crowson Family lot at Salem Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Crowson was born December 26, 1918 in Westville, IL, the daughter of Sam Dudley and May Blanche Wolff Dudley. She was married June 30, 1945 in Washington, D.C. to Lester Crowson of Bainbridge, GA. During World War II, Mrs. Crowson served as a civilian secretary for the U.S. Department of the Navy and prior to her retirement was employed as an Executive Secretary for the Federal Maritime Commission. She was active at Calvary Baptist Church of Elkins, WV. Mrs. Crowson was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Crowson and her sister, May Blanche Dugas. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Crowson and Arthur W. Dodds, Jr. of Montrose, WV; two step-granddaughters; and six step-great-grandchildren.
