Margaret Worthington

Margaret Miller Worthington, 77, of Brinson, GA, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Newton Cranford and Rev. Milton Harrison officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Eric Worthington, Stacey Worthington, John Strickland, Gary Phillips, Ricky Faircloth, and Jack Henderson serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 22, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 562, Bainbridge, GA 39818. Mrs. Worthington was born August 19, 1932 in Iron City, GA, the daughter of H. E. Miller and Vera Inez Hunter Miller. She was a retired Assistant Lunchroom Manager at John Johnson Elementary School and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert H. Worthington. Survivors include four sons, Ronald Worthington and his wife Patsy of Brinson, GA, Kenneth Worthington of Bainbridge, GA, Ricky Worthington and his wife Debbie of Bainbridge, GA, and Hal Worthington and his wife Dee of Brinson, GA; two daughters, Paula W. Sheffield and her husband Allan of Bainbridge, GA and Cathy W. Pope and her husband Russell of Brinson, GA; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
