Marguriette Taylor. age 93, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023, at her granddaughter’s home in Bainbridge, Georgia. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 25, at Kimbrel Chapel, 2537 Highway 91 North, Colquitt, Georgia. Marguriette Cumbie was born February 10, 1930, in Cairo, Georgia to Willie Ray Cumbie and Lenee Lucille Mills Cumbie. On August 2, 1943, she married the love of her life, Clenwood Auburn Taylor, at Pope’s Museum in Cairo. Mrs. Taylor was of the Baptist faith. Her heart was her family. She loved being a housewife and taking care of her children and anyone else that came along. Mrs. Taylor loved to go fishing and work in her yard. She will be missed by her family and many friends. Marguriette Taylor is survived by her children, Sharleen Singleton of Vada, Georgia, Bonnie Pollock (Donald) of Vada, and Clenwood A. Taylor, Jr. of Vada; her granddaughter that she raised, Lisa R. Ward (Bill) of Bainbridge; brother, Billy Cumbie (Sue) of Haynes City, Florida; grandchildren, Kim Crane Crosby (Derrick) of Camila, Georgia, Travis Shiver (Jaimie) of Reynolds, Georgia, Shannon Dean (Melissa) of Cairo, Georgia, Michelle Brown (Doug) of Baconton, Georgia, Chris Pollock (August) of Vada, Leann Harper (Axel) of Vada, Wendy Barfield (Michael) of Vada, and Eric Taylor (Suzette) of Eufaula, Alabama; 23 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clenwood A. Taylor, daughter, Sandra Lee Taylor Dean, sisters Joyce Bailey and Reva Arrejondo, and brothers, Bo Cumbie and Autry Roger Cumbie.
