Maricruz Nievez-Abrigo

Maricruz Nievez-Abrigo, 54, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Maricruz Nievez was born October 31, 1966 in Laredo, Mexico, the daughter of Maria Taresa Nievez. She graduated from high school in Mexico and married Pedro Abrigo. Maricruz and Pedro made their home in Immokalee, FL. In 1993 they moved to Southwest Georgia. Maricruz was Catholic by faith. Maricruz believed family was the most important bond. She had high expectations, especially for cleanliness, and always helped others. Maricruz was a fantastic cook and never let a person in her presence do without. Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Pedro Abrigo; her children, Gabriela Medina, Janie Nievez, and Brenda Ortiz; her siblings, Patricia Nievez, Erika Nievez, Jose Enrique Nievez, Griselda Nievez, Jose Alejando Nievez, and Julio Ceasar Nievez; and several niece and nephews. Maricruz was preceded in death by her mother.
