Mr. Marion C. (Bud) Johns, 83, of Faceville, GA, passed away Friday, May 29, 2009 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2009 at Faceville United Methodist Church with Rev. Donna Sue Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Sylvania Cemetery with David Whigham, Chris Moore, Christopher Butch, Ryan Butch, Sam Jacobs and Robert Horton serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 31, 2009 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . West Street, Bainbridge, GA 39817. Mr. Johns was born August 17, 1925 in Recovery, GA, the son of Charlie Johns and Betty Poitevent Johns. He was a graduate of Faceville High School, Class of 1944 and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a sheet metal mechanic and instructor at Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station in Cherry Point, NC, and a member of Faceville United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Caprell Duke Johns of Faceville, GA; four daughters, Barbara Johns Whigham and her husband Tommy of Warner Robins, GA, Jan Johns Butch and her husband Phillip of Swansboro, NC, Vicky Johns Jacobs and her husband Dale of Greenville, NC and Jackie Johns Horton and her husband Mike of Greenville, NC; nine grandchildren, David Whigham, Marisa Moore, Christopher Butch, Ryan Butch, Sam Jacobs, Matthew Jacobs, Molly Horton, Robert Horton and Mary Horton; and three great-grandchildren, Mavi Foster, Hadley Moore and Patrick Moore.
