Marjorie Jane Banks Jones, 86, of Climax, GA, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Climax United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne McDonald officiating. Bill Cosson, Charles Hadsock, Keith Harrison, Bryan McMillan, Butch Mosely, and Daryl Willis will serve as active pallbearers. The graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville, IL with Rev. Don Riley officiating. Jan Runner, Jay Runner, Ronald Runner, and Michael Runner will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Ivey Funeral Home. Clay Street, Thomasville, GA 31792. Mrs. Jones was born August 24, 1926 in Blandinsville, IL, the daughter of Harley James Banks and Edith Leone Gordon Banks. She was a graduate of Blandinsville High School, Class of 1944, and graduated from Gem City Business School in Quincy, IL. Mrs. Jones was a dedicated homemaker. She was an active member of Climax Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir, the United Methodist Women, and the Golden Agers. Mrs. Jones was also a member and president of Climax Community Club, where she was active with Swine Time for over 18 years, The Big Bend Golf League, and the Sew-N-Sew Quilters. Quilting was her passion, Mrs. Jones also loved to cook and garden. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Robert Eugene Jones of Climax, GA; her sons, Steven R. Jones and his wife, Patty, of Selah, WA and David E. Jones and his wife, Kathy of Thompson, OH; her daughters, Amy M. Jones and her husband, John Sistrunk, of Tallahassee, FL and Jane E. Jones Speake of Athens, GA; her sister, Norma G. Runner of Blandinsville, IL; her three grandchildren, Kathryn E. Jones, Adam E. Jones and Alice R. Speake; and her step-granddaughter, Amber N. Weber. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Wendell Franklin Banks, Donald Edward Banks, and Richard Gordon Banks; and her sister, Susan Georgianna Banks.
