Marjorie Sandlin Jones, age 91, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away at Memorial Manor, Thursday, July 23, 2026. Services for Mrs. Jones will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 26, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. The Rev. Ryan Wade will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private buried will be held in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery, where she will be buried beside her dear husband.
Marjorie Sandlin Jones was born on June, 6, 1935 in Brinson, Georgia, to Sam E. Sandlin and Ella Campbell Sandlin. She married the love of her life, John M. Jones. They were married over 50 years before he preceded her in death. Marjorie and John were charter members of Fellowship Baptist Church of Brinson, Georgia. She loved her Sunday School class and was dedicated to her church. Marjorie was a hard worker. She was a hostess for International Paper Company for over 20 years, keeping everyone well fed and comfortable when the company had guest. Before she retired, Marjorie worked in banking. She loved life on the farm, the gardening and handling vegetables, going fishing, being in the yard, all made her happy. She was deeply dedicated to her family, church, and community. Marjorie will be dearly missed by her many friends and family.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Stephen "Stevie" Jones (Kerry) of Brinson; sisters, Elsie Seymore (Charles) and Dorothy Brown; brother, David Sandlin (Glenda); grandchildren, Bridget Schwartz (Stephen) of Washington, DC, Stephanie Jones, Bainbridge, Samuel "Sam" Jones and Seth Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, John Samuel (Sammy) Jones.
