Martha Chastain

Mrs. Martha Ann Cross Chastain, age 69, passed away early Friday, November 30, 2018, in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Chastain will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 3, 2018, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. Eric Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Thomas Mitchell, Joshua Dees, James Watson, and Stacy Drawdy will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, Georgia. The family will receive friends, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 2, at the Cadwell Chapel. Martha Ann Cross was born December 27, 1948 in Quincy, Florida. Her parents, Joseph Cross and Lorraine Watts Cross, have preceded her in death. In 1990 she married her loving husband, Lloyd Chastain. She and Lloyd lived at Lake Seminole, where Martha Ann loved to fish. Martha Ann worked as a nursing assistant and loved caring for and helping the elderly. She loved gospel and country music and was a great cook. Martha Ann had a very adventurous spirit. Martha Ann Chastain will be deeply missed by her family and her many friends. Mrs. Chastain is survived by her husband, Lloyd Chastain of Lake Seminole, Georgia; her children, Dale Mitchell (Sharon), Lisa Wilson (Craig), Melinda Joyner, (Andy), and Kerry Chastain (Ann); 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Mary Cross. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Buck Kelly; and brothers, Wayne Cross and Irving Cross.
