Martha Copeland

Martha Moore Copeland, age 93, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on February 16, 2025. Funeral services for Mrs. Copeland will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. Rev. Nate Lehman will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private interment will be held at Oak City Cemetery.
Martha Moore was born on August 24, 1931, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to her parents, James Crowder Moore and Mary Solana Moore. She graduated from Birmingham Southern College and Florida State University where she earned both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Elementary Education. While a student, she was honored to become a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She was also a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. Mrs. Copeland worked as an elementary school teacher with the Bay County Board of Education for over 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with friends while also valuing her quiet time with a good book or crossword puzzle. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Panama City, Florida.
Mrs. Copeland is survived by her children, John Cary Copeland (Melissa) and Laurie Anne Copeland, two grandchildren, Christopher Copeland and Carina Copeland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
