Martha Huey

Martha D. Huey, 85, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Medley and Rev. Bill Ingram officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with her nephews serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Huey was born May 27, 1924 in Mitchell County, GA, the daughter of Clarence Randolph Daughtry and Jessie Blanche Mask Daughtry. A graduate of Pelham High School, she was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband William G. Huey, a daughter, Beverly Huey Sims, and a brother, Clarence R. Daughtry, Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Huey Turner of Madison, GA; her son, Randy Huey of Bainbridge, GA; two brothers, Harry Daughtry of Baconton, GA and Joe Daughtry of Pelham, GA; three sisters, Blanche Ingram of Tallahassee, FL, Imogene Jones and Lula Scott, both of Pelham, GA; four grandchildren, Lesley T. Taylor and her husband Mike of Madison, GA, Scott Sims, Eric Sims, and Leigh Sims Pagan and her husband Bryan, all of Tampa, FL; and four great-grandchildren, Sarah Beth Taylor, Caroline Taylor, Addyson Pagan, and J. P. Sims.
