Martha Jo Gardner Singleton, 78, of Russellville, AL, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2011 at Southern Manor Assisted Living in Russellville, AL. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Dean officiating and will conclude in the chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Vada, GA with Chris Hogsed, Austin Singleton, Darin Singleton, Jeff Simpson, Ryan Simpson, and Stan Powell serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Singleton was born October 13, 1932, the daughter of Gentury and Roberta Gardner and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Singleton; her sons, Chan Singleton and Joey E. Singleton; her brother, Bryant Gardner; her sister, Catherine Powell; and her daughter-in-law, Sheila Singleton. Survivors include her son, Al Singleton of Russllville, AL; her daughter, Lisa Hogsed of Cobb, GA; her five grandchildren; her two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
