Mary Avery

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary M. Avery, 84, of Bainbridge, GA will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Milton Harrison, family and friends officiating. Interment will be in Beulah Thomas Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home. Mrs. Avery was born August 15, 1924 in Decatur County, GA to the now late William Joseph and Sallie Mae Chason Meredith. She was a homemaker and lived all of her life in Decatur County. Mrs. Avery was a member of Beulah Thomas Baptist Church and loved reading, gardening, cooking, fishing, and her family. She especially liked helping elderly people and children. Mrs. Avery passed away at her residence Sunday, April 12, 2009. She is survived by three daughters; Kay (husband Jack) Smith of Bainbridge, GA, Linda (husband Chris) Donley of Colquitt, GA, and Laura Avery of Bainbridge, GA; two sons; Meredith (wife Joyce) Avery of Pelham, GA and Larry (wife Martha) Avery of Seminole County, GA; one brother; William Dick Meredith of Bainbridge, GA; eleven grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Avery was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; William Varnell Avery; one daughter; Judy Avery; one son; Allen Avery; two brothers; William Joseph Meredith Jr. and William Franklin Meredith; and one sister; Elizabeth Medina.
