Mary Benefield

Mary Pearl Benefield, 90, of Jacksonville died November 14, 2007 at Jacksonville. Born November 25, 1916 in Ft. Gaines, GA, she moved to Bainbridge, GA with her family. She moved later to Chattanooga, TN, then to Jacksonville, FL. She was preceded in death by her parent's Hezekiah and Mary Tant and her husband, Ansel "Benny" Benefield. She is survived by three children Cecelia Smaglis of Jacksonville,FL Diane Rae of Atlanta, GA and R. L. Benefield of Chattanooga, TN; a brother, Sam Tant of Cape Coral, FL; a sister, Doris Fickling of Charlotte, NC; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4114 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, GA 32257.
