Mary Long Brown, 84, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Medley, Rev. Art Bruce, and Rev. David Self officiating, and will conclude at the church. Interment will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens. The Deacons of First Baptist Church will serve as active pallbearers. Box 155, Bainbridge, GA 39818. Mrs. Brown was born September 9, 1927 in Dodge County, GA, the daughter of John Solomon Long and Alice Kate Lassiter Long. She was a graduate of the Academy for the Blind in Macon, GA, retired from Georgia Industries for the Blind, and was a member of First Baptist Church and the Fronie McQuaig Sunday School Class. Survivors include her son, Neil Penson Brown and his wife, Sandy, of Louisville, KY; her sister, Serena Long Kelly of Macon, GA; and her granddaughter, Sarah Alice Marie Brown of Louisville, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Alvin Brown and her son, William Michael Brown.
