Mary Brown

Mary Jones Brown, age 94, of Whigham, Georgia, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, in Whigham, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Brown will be held at 4:30 pm, Thursday, October 30, graveside, in Woodlawn Cemetery, Whigham, Georgia. The Rev. Tim Harrell will officiate.

Mary Jones was born June 15, 1931, to Johnny Jones and Mary Lucretia Yawn Jones. She married her soulmate, Raymond Brown. She and Raymond were together for 72 years before his passing in 2021. Her family was her heart. She loved to care for her family. An excellent cook, she made certain anyone that entered her home was fed and fed well. No one minded because she was an excellent cook. Her dressing was a favorite, but everything was great. Mary enjoyed crocheting and camping. She and Raymond did a great deal of traveling all over the United States. She was a selfless, nurturing mother.

Mary Jones Brown is survived by her children, Carol Padgett (John) of Whigham, Georgia and Jeff Brown of Climax, Georgia; grandchildren, Jeffrey Robinson (Mandy) of Whigham, Stacey Robinson (Leslie) of Whigham, Steven Brown (Belinda) of Cairo, Georgia, Michael Brown (Jana) of Clermont, Florida, and John Brown of Cairo; great-grandchildren, Marley Robinson, Avery Brown, Jay Brown and Corey Brown of Whigham, and Jesse Brown (Juliana) of Brazil; and great-great grandchild, Makai. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
