Mary Brooks Camp, age 76, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Southeast Health Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 22, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. The Rev. David Grubbs will officiate. The family will greet friends before the service, beginning at 9:00 am.
Mary Clemons was born February 5, 1949, in Bainbridge, Georgia to Earnest Lee Clemons and Mattie Pauline Kelly Clemons. Mary was smart and pretty, with a feisty attitude. She loved to travel and go shopping. The beach was her happy place. Mary enjoyed good music; that would be “70’s rock”. She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a huge caring heart for others and worked hard. She might have been a wee bit hard-headed. Mary loved animals, especially her cats, Smokey and Freebie. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
Mary Camp is survived by her husband, Leonard L. Camp, Jr. of Bainbridge; children, John Earnest Brooks (Lisa) of Eatonton, Georgia, Anthony Ross Brooks of Greensboro, Georgia, Andy Camp (Savannah) of New Port Richie, Florida, and Tommy Camp of Kissimmee, Florida; siblings, William (Billy) Clemons of Bainbridge, Diane Bramblett (Maloy) of Bainbridge, Larry Clemons (Margaret) of Brinson, Georgia, Jane Harrison of Bainbridge, and Adam Clemons (Liz) of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Whitney Bernas (Travis), Shannon Camp, and Killian Camp; great-grandchildren, Eli, Beau, and Addie; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest Lee Clemons and Mattie Pauline Kelly Clemons; siblings, Danny Ray Manuel, Leon Clemons, Charles Clemons, Delores Clemons, and Dorothy Clemons; husband, Tommy Brooks; daughter-in-law, Shelley Brooks; and her cat, Lucky.
