Mary Day

Mary Askew Day, 78, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Monday, May 17, 2021. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Pine Forest Baptist Church with Rev. Jim McIntosh officiating.  Interment will follow at Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery with Nicholas Godwin, Ashley Godwin, Alex Clark, Wesley Godwin, Brock Godwin, Tyler Godwin, and Dustin Godwin serving as active pallbearers.  Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines. Mrs. Day was born Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Alfred Askew and Rosa Lee Wimberly Askew.  Mrs. Day retired from Torrington, Inc. as a Quality Control Inspector.  She loved being outdoors working in her flower beds. Survivors include her husband Tommy Day of Bainbridge, GA; son, Lee Godwin (Tammi) of Bainbridge, GA; her sisters, Emory Phillips (Gene) of Climax, GA and Alice Vann (Terry) of Dahlonega, GA; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Day was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Joy Clark; and a brother, Glenn Askew. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Integrity Hospice, 303 E.
