Mary Mervyn Brock DeeseSeptember 18, 1934 - January 18, 2023 Mary Mervyn Deese, age 88, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 23, 2023 at Sutton Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Lynn Roberts officiating. Private interment will be at Sutton Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines. Mervyn was born September 18, 1934 in Bainbridge, Georgia the daughter of Valley B Brock and Mary Magdeline Brock. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. Mervyn worked at Grocery Outlet for several years. Survivors include her son, John Deese; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mervyn was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, J.R. Deese; her children, Robert "Buddy" L. Rumph, Jr., Joseph " Joey" Rumph, Martha Smith, Angela "Angie" Rumph, Mary Ellen Reynolds; and sister, Valley Merle Hayes.
