Mary Gilson

Mary Sue Brock Gilson, 80, of Hernando, MS, passed away August 30, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Southaven, MS. She was formerly of Bainbridge, GA and Copperas, TX. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Brock Cemetery. Mrs. Gilson was born September 15, 1933 in Bainbridge, GA the daughter of Willie Lee and May Dale Brock. She was a retired owner and operator of Basket of Flowers in Copperas, TX. Survivors include her husband, Charles M. Gilson of Hernando, MS; her daughter, Debbie Holstine and her fiancé, Terry Wagner, of Hernando, MS; her son, Roger Willis and his wife, Rosa, of Atlanta, GA; her sisters, Marie Williams and her husband, Frank, of Pelham, GA, and Rosa Strickland and her husband, Glenn, of Tallahassee, FL; her brother, Lavon Brock and his wife, Daphene, of Baconton, GA; her step-brother, Ennis Brock and his wife, Evelyn, of Bainbridge, GA; her grandchildren, Lance Butterfield of Memphis, TN, Brooke Pomerenk and her husband, Steven, of Memphis, TN, Jacob Willis of Atlanta, GA, Jesse Taylor and his wife, Jamie, of Coffeeville, MS, and Leslie Williams and her husband, Nick, of Heber Springs, AR; and her great-grandchildren, Sophie, Stella, Victoria, Abigail, Mary Elizabeth, Anna Grace, Jesse David, Hannah Daniel, Hayden and Lila. She was preceded in death by her son, Danny Brock; her brothers, Otis Brock, Eugene Brock and Charles Olin "C.O." Brock; her step-mother, Emma Brock; and her step-sister, Maybell Hutto.
