Mary Goodwin

(BAINBRIDGE, GA) Mary Ann Goodwin, 73, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at her residence following an extended illness.  Memorial services will be held Friday, February 18th at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Ivey Funeral Home with Pastor James Scarborough officiating. Mrs. Goodwin, a native of Bainbridge, GA, was born on Thursday, February 3rd,1949 to the late William Henry Wimberly Sr. and Ella Vernie Wimberly. She was a homemaker, enjoyed playing Solitaire, talking to EVERYONE, and most importantly... her family, reading her Bible, and was a member of Faceville Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital at Stjude.org or Autismspeaks.org. Survivors include her daughters; Christie Bruce (Milton) of Faceville, Shelia Harvey (Edwin) of Colquitt, and Kimberly Slaughter (Jason) of Bainbridge. Grandchildren include Michael, Mitchell, Shane, Kristopher, Shawn, Jonathan, and Gregory. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings; William Wimberly Jr., Jerry Wimberly, Poshil Hand, Patricia Gadd, Alvin Wimberly, and Wallace Wimberly, and a son, Greg Merritt. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.
