Mary Guibor

Mary Guibor, 67, of Bainbridge, GA, formerly of Miami, FL, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Mary Jane Vorholt was born December 13, 1952 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Lawrence and Evelyn Wagonblast Vorholt. Mary married Gary Guibor in June 1977 and they made their home in Miami, FL. In 2008, Mary & Gary made their way to Southwest Georgia where she worked as a counselor at ABAC Bainbridge. Mary was a girl with fight. She overcame lymphoma in 2000 and never missed a beat. She enjoyed her job at the college and was well liked by her peers and students. Mary had a passion for helping others and felt her input was sometimes the gentle nudge a student needed to take a risk and step out of the box. She felt most relaxed when she was camping, taking in the beauty of the natural landscape, or trying out a new recipe to share with her family. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Gary Guibor; her daughters, Shannon Guibor of New Orleans, LA and Sara Guibor of Miami, FL; and her siblings, Larry, Judy, Jean, Janet, and Joyce. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Joan.
