Mary Herring

Mary Alice Godwin Herring, 77, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Attapulgus Cemetery with Rev. Donna Sue Roberts officiating. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Herring was born February 22, 1933 in Amsterdam GA, the daughter of Albert Henry Godwin and Alice Dora Bennett Godwin. She was a graduate of Attapulgus High School, Class of 1950. She worked as a shop clerk with Miller Hydro and also as a seamstress with Jack Winter, Inc. Mrs. Herring was a member of Woodville Baptist Church in Woodville, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Henderson Herring and her sons, Mickey Dale Weaver and Jerry Allen Weaver. Survivors include her daughters, Dora Fleming and her husband Edward of Fayetteville, GA, Pat Brooks and her husband Billy of Crawfordville, FL, and Miriam Mitchell and her husband Mike of Bainbridge, GA; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
