Mary Ethel Stephens Johnson, 86, of Colquitt, GA, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011 at her daughter's residence in Enterprise, AL. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Colquitt United Methodist Church. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Colquitt United Methodist Church with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge, GA. Active pallbearers will be Spud Bush, Terry Toole, Bud Carter, Irvin Hodges, Earl Smith, and Ray Grimsley. Mary Ethel was born December 18, 1924 in Calvary, GA, the daughter of Henry E. Stephens and Ethel Mae Harrell Stephens. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, a member of Colquitt United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her son, Tommy Johnson and his wife, Jan, of Albany, GA; her daughters, Mary Alice Logan and her husband, Joseph, of Enterprise, AL, and Carole Snipes of Camilla, GA; her sister, Marjorie Stephens Moughan of Gray, GA; seven grandchildren, Heather Johnson, Brad (Lauren) Johnson, Rae Phillips, Amanda (Brett) Williams, Hayley (Chase) Caldwell, Kym (Carl) Drummond, and Beau Logan; and nine great-grandchildren, Kayla Moore, Brailyn Williams, Bryson Williams, Kailey Williams, Caden Caldwell, Kinsley Caldwell, Steven McKenzie, Gary Drummond, and Samantha Drummond. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Johnson (Sergeant who served in the South Pacific during World War II); and her sisters, Hattie S. Horne and Annie Pearl S. Patterson.
