Mrs. Mary Brooks Kennedy, age 94, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Kennedy will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Gerald Little will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak City Cemetery. Kevin Marvin, Ray Foco, Eric Marvin, Joel McConnell, Roy Rogers, and Peyton Dixon will serve as pallbearers. Bob Strickland and Harvey Gene Rogers will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mary Brooks was born July 1, 1918 in Dale County, Alabama, to Marion Brooks and Docia Bolton Brooks. She was a person who always helped other people. Mary loved to cook. She was passionate about her children. Mary Brooks Kennedy is survived by her children, Betty Jean Ward of Bainbridge, Doris Pace of Jacksonville, Florida, Ida Mae Foco and husband, Ray of Pinconning, Michigan, Nell McConnell and husband, Gerald of Bainbridge, and Randall Kennedy and wife, Nancy of Climax, Georgia. Mrs. Kennedy has 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Collie S. Kennedy, children, Vernell Marvin and Bunny Sue Heil, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers.
