Mary Kennedy

Mary Virginia Kennedy, 79, of Thomasville, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Harrell officiating and will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home. Mrs. Kennedy was born June 18, 1934 in Medland, AL, the daughter of Harmon Jackson Brooks and Ethel Mae Rister Brooks. On March 4, 1950 she married Howard Edward Kennedy who preceded her in death. She retired as a dietician from Memorial Hospital, Bainbridge, GA. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of Bainbridge Church of God. Survivors include her children, Mary Collins of Thomasville, GA, Nancy Greene of St. Marks, FL and Sabrina Kennedy of ST. Marks, FL; her siblings, Edward "Buck" Brooks of California, Sydney "Buddy" Brooks of Albany, GA, Ruby Nell Swaggard of Cairo, GA, Gwen Brooks of Bainbridge, GA, Billy Brooks of Crawfordville, FL, Jimmy Brooks of Crawfordville, Fl, and Betty Brim of Woodville, FL; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Elaine Taylor; and her sisters, Bonnie Holley and Dorothy Smith.
