Mrs. Mary Jo Martin, 79, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, February 20, 2009 at her residence. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Black Jack Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Beauchamp officiating. Interment will follow at Black Jack Baptist Church Cemetery with Ken Dollar, Jeff Tillery, Wesley Tillery, Ray Newsome, Joe Newsome, Harry James Newsome, Gene Newsome, and James Wheeler serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Martin was born July 29, 1929 in Plant City, FL, the daughter of Marion Harry Booth and Birdie Whiddon Booth. She was a homemaker and worked the family farm with her husband. She was a member of Black Jack Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served as a Youth For Christ leader. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Martin, and a daughter, Gail Martin. Survivors include two sons, Randal Martin and his wife Tina of Leesburg, GA, and Ronnie Martin and his wife Kerri of Bainbridge, GA; her daughter, Sue M. Tillery and her husband Jed of Bainbridge, GA; a brother, Forrest Booth of St. Petersburg, FL; 8 grandchildren, Ken Dollar, Jeff Tillery, Wesley Tillery, Cricket Martin, Melissa Martin, Brooke Martin, Kelcie Martin, and Bethanie Robinson; and 9 great-grandchildren.
