Mary Mckay

Mary Ellen McKay, 79, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at St. Johns Episcopal Church. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Memorial donations may be made to St. Johns Episcopal Church, 516 East Broughton Street, Bainbridge, GA 39817. Mrs. McKay was born December 27, 1931 in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of E. Bryant Woods and Ella Zoph Woods. She held a Masters Degree in Elementary Education and was a teacher for many years. Mrs. McKay was a member of St Johns Episcopal Church, a member of Daughters of the King, and an active volunteer for relief efforts around the world. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, George McKay of Bainbridge, GA; her son, Robert Gary McKay of West Palm Beach, FL; her daughter, Carolyn Elizabeth Brierley of Boynton Beach, FL; her three grandchildren, Troy Roberson, Alex McKay, and Justin McKay; and her one great-granddaughter, Charlee Roberson.
