Mary Ann Moye, age 84, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in Dothan, Alabama. Services for Mrs. Moye will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 11, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. The Rev. David Grubbs will officiate. The service will conclude in the chapel. Mary Ann will be privately interred in Oak City Cemetery. The Moye family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 10:00 am.
Mary Ann Barrientos was born on November 14, 1940, in Apalachicola, Florida, to Lawless Barrientos and Florence Scarbin Barrientos. She grew up in the North Florida area and attended Leon County High School in Tallahassee. Mary Ann married Robert Madison Moye, Jr. and shared life with him for 53 years. Mr. Moye passed away November 10, 2012. She was a great homemaker and worked at their shoe store, Country Cobbler, for many years. She grew beautiful flowers, especially roses, and loved working in her yard. She enjoyed fishing, adored bird watching and was a wonderful cook. Mary Ann was an avid fan of Georgia and Seminole football. She loved them both and even had both team’s emblems on her car. When her health allowed, she was a dedicated member of Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church. Her family was her heart, even the grand puppies. She expected pictures of the dogs/puppies daily.
Mary Ann Moye is survived by her children, Bruce Moye of Seminole County, Georgia, Rex Moye (Debbie) of Havana, Florida, Tom Moye (Debra) of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, David Moye of Seminole County, Georgia; brother, Lawless Barrientos, Jr. of Golden, Colorado; grandchildren, Jessica Moye Thompson (Tim), Haylie Kaye Moye, Kenny Moye, Lillian Moye, Bruce Moye, Jr., Erin Moye, Zoe Moye, Jennifer Moye Gonzalez, Mike Moye, and Zack Moye; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Mike.
