Mary Pyles

Mary Lucy Miller Pyles, age 83, of Cairo, Georgia, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, in Bossier City, Louisiana. A service to honor Mary will be held at Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28. The Rev. Randy Zeigler will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 10:00. A private interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery. Mary was born November 19, 1939 in Cairo, Georgia to Berry McKinley Miller and Effie Lee McManeus Miller. A graduate of Cairo High School, she was in the class of 1958. In November of 1958 she married the love of her life, Norman J. Pyles. A member of Eastside Baptist Church since childhood, she worked hard in the church and shared her love for the Lord. At one time or another Mary held every position from Sunday School teacher to church clerk. For 34 years she worked in the Materials Management Department at Archbold Medical Center. For 64 years she and Norman shared their lives together and recently moved to Bossier City to be closer to their daughter and family. Mary was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, and friend to many. Her family was her heart. Mary Pyles will be deeply missed by her many, many friends and loving family. Mary Miller Pyles is survived by her husband, Norman J. Pyles of Bossier City, LA.; children, Ken Pyles of Cairo and Kay Zeigler of Bossier City; grandchildren, Randy Zeigler and wife Chelby, Brandi Free and husband Dakota, Brooke Johnston and husband Tyler, all of Bossier City, LA; 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Billy Miller and wife Lonelle of Columbus, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Mack Miller, Horace Miller, and Daisy Collins, and grandson, Kenny Pyles.
