Mary Ann "Evon" Smith, 75, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Delwood Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Hall and Rev. Andy Hall officiating. Interment will be at Delwood Baptist Church Cemetery with her grandsons, nephews and cousins serving as active pallbearers and the Delwood Baptist Church Choir serving as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Smith was born December 15, 1935 in Patterson, GA, the daughter of Alvin Tyre and Tempie Hardee Tyre. She owned and operated the Golden Comb in Apopka, FL for many years. Mrs. Smith was a member of Delwood Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir, and she was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Gordon Tyre, Harold Tyre, and Joseph Tyre. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Oliver C. Smith of Bainbridge, GA; her daughters, Debra Mellon and her husband, Jack, of Virginia Beach, VA, Beverly Cutchens and her husband, Jimmy, of Bainbridge, GA, Brenda Ryan of Apopka, FL, and Anna Briggs of Titusville, FL; her ten grandchildren, Jay Mellon, Morgan Mellon, Andrew Mellon, Zac West, Dana Bryant, Christi Murray, Tim Ryan, Ashley Riddell, Bryadon Briggs, and McKenzie Briggs; and her seven great-grandchildren.
