Mary Speir

Mrs. Mary Kirkland Speir, age 73, passed away at her home in Brinson, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Speir will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Mrs. Speir will be interred in New Park Cemetery, Ft. Gaines, Georgia. Mary Kirkland was born October 18, 1942, in Gainesville, Florida, to Melvin J.B. Kirkland and Eunice Waters Kirkland. She was a homemaker. Mary was a very kindhearted person and a wonderful mother. She adored her grandchildren. She was all about family. Mary Speir will be missed so very much by her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Cheri Earp and husband, James of Brinson, Georgia, Jerry Wilson and wife, Gail of Nashville, Georgia, Van Wilson and wife, Jean of Lakeland, Georgia, and Lee Wilson of North Augusta, South Carolina; her sisters and brothers, Diane Tanner, Marion Blalock, Morris Blalock, Jennive Blalock, Jewell Donnelly, and Gerald Blalock; grandchildren, Jason and Brandon Harris, Ian Edge, Braxton, Peyton, Austin, and Dylan Wilson; and great-grandchildren, Anderson Edge, Braydon Wilson, and Anthony Harris. She was preceded in death by her parent; husbands, Jimmie Lee Wilson and Lynn (Sam) S. Speir; son, Alan Wilson; sister, Barbara Hurst; and brother, Buddy Kirkland.
