Mrs. Mary Frances Wynn White, 70, passed away Monday, January 29, 2007 at her residence in Bainbridge, GA. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2007 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Medley officiating. Interment will follow at Sylvania Cemetery near Faceville, GA with Allen Lee, Chris Wynn, Bryan Wynn, Chuck Howell, Bryant Conger, Lee Conger, Blake Smith, and Freddy Byers serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. White was born June 14, 1936 in Decatur County, GA, the daughter of John William Howell and Bertie Whiddon Howell. She graduated from Chattahoochee (FL) High School, and received her BA in Education from Florida State University, and her MS in Education from Valdosta State College. She was a retired elementary school teacher for Decatur County School System and member of Decatur-Seminole Retired Teachers Association and Fidelis Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Educator's Sorority. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Hilda Byrd Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her previous husband, Jackie E. Wynn. Survivors include her husband, Edmund C. ("Ed") White, Jr. of Bainbridge, GA; three sons, Gary Wynn of Douglasville, GA, Terry Smith of Watkinsville, GA, and David E. White of Thomasville, GA; four daughters, Prissy Wynn Butler of Bainbridge, GA, Dianne Byers of Lake Wylie, SC, Gloria Conger of Bainbridge, GA, and Leah Smith of Augusta, GA; a brother, Charles Howell of Tallahassee, FL; a sister, Sue H. Lee of Thomasville, GA; 15 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
