Mattie Wimberly, 66, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Memorial Hospital.. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herman Hand and Rev. Bob Nipper officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery with her sons and grandsons serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Wimberly was born October 11, 1946 in Tallahassee, FL, the daughter of Charlie Wilburn Mills, Sr. and Lou Edith Keigans Mills. She was nurse and loving homemaker. Mrs. Wimberly was a member of Potter's House Church. Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Junior Wimberly of Bainbridge, GA; her children, Margie Hurley and her husband, John, of Bainbridge, GA, Samantha Brackin and her husband, Jim, of Bainbridge, GA, Linny Cox and his fiancé Ellen Faye of Bainbridge, GA, John Cox and his wife Peggy of Bainbridge, GA, Leon Bettis and his fiancé Daphaney Davis of Bainbridge, GA, Bobby Bettis and his wife Rachel of Bainbridge, GA, Vernice Pace of Virginia, Leroy Wimberly of Virginia, Bill Wimberly of Virginia, and Marie Alguire of Florida; her sister, Shirley Cofer of Thomasville, GA; her brother, Willis Mills of Bainbridge, GA; her 16 grandchildren; and her 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Charlie Mills,Jr., Roy Mills, and James Mills.
