Maude Phillips

Mrs. Maude Lavelle Phillips, age 90, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Bainbridge Healthcare in Bainbridge, Georgia. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Climax, Georgia. The Rev. Stanley Phillips and Rev. Gene M. Brock will officiate. Maude Lavelle Brock was born January 26, 1925 in Decatur County, Georgia. Her parents were John Daniel Brock and Ethel Powell Brock. In 1951, Maude married George Dewey Phillips, Jr. They were married 44 years, until his death. She was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. Maude Phillips had a generous spirit and loved people. She worked as a C.N.A. and caregiver; working many years at Memorial Manor. Mrs. Phillips loved her family. Maude Phillips is survived by her sons, George Leonard Phillips of Climax and Rodney Lester Phillips and wife, Shelby of Bainbridge; brother, Gene M. Brock of Thomasville, Georgia; grandchildren, George Ryan Phillips of Bainbridge, Meghan Elizabeth Phillips of Climax, Nicholas Phillips of Bainbridge and Melissa Phillips of Bainbridge; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 9 siblings. To honor Mrs. Phillips, donations may be made to the Lighthouse Children's Home, 7771 Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, Florida 32309.
