Merle Nichols

Mrs. Merle Baggerly Nichols, 75, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2007 at her residence. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Salem-Seminole Baptist Church near Donalsonville, GA, with Rev. Ken Baggett and Rev. Brandon Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery with her grandsons serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2007 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Nichols was born November 26, 1931 in Brinson, GA to the now late Ralph Lester Baggerly and Annie Lee Lambert Baggerly. She graduated from Brinson High School in 1948 and from Norman College in 1950, and married Joe Nichols on July 8, 1950. Formerly of Bainbridge, GA, and Macon, GA, she was a retired real estate broker in the Macon area. She was a member of Salem-Seminole Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Joe Nichols of Donalsonville, GA; four sons, Randy Nichols and wife Marcia of Macon, GA, Farrell Nichols and wife Alice of Dublin, GA, Marlan Nichols and wife Janie of Warner Robins, GA, and Maurice Nichols and wife Susan of Clayton, GA; two sisters, Emmie Grimes of Long Meadow, MA and Zadie Peters of Columbus, GA; ten grandchildren, Joseph Nichols, Dana Albertson, Jon Nichols, Jennifer Thrasher, Jason Nichols, Brandon Nichols, Leslie Nichols, Alex Nichols, Wylder Nichols, and Trevor Nichols; and eight great-grandchildren, Justin Nichols, Riley Nichols, Jackson Nichols, Andrew Nichols, Joey Nichols, Taylor Thrasher, Hunter Thrasher, and ShelbyAnn Thrasher.
