Mia Ranae Miller Harrell, age 66, passed away at her home in Brinson, Georgia on April 18, 2024. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A private family service will be held at a later date. Mia Ranae Miller was born on January 20, 1958 in Riverside, California to Sherman and Emma Mae Dykes Miller. Prior to becoming a nurse, she was a registered cosmetologist and worked in that profession until she completed her nursing degree to become a Registered Nurse. She was born with a military father who settled his family in south Georgia. Ranae loved the simple things in life and was such a generous person. She was an animal lover who constantly rescued pets. Dear to her heart are her fur babies, Mug, Abby, and Betsy. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and Nana. Ranae Harrell will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. Mrs. Harrell is survived by her husband, Roderick “Red” Harrell of Brinson; her children, Bryan (BJ) Collins, Jr. (Robyn) of Brinson, Christopher White of Pennsylvania, Megan White of Iron City, Georgia, Ashley Ponder (Stephen) of Whigham, Georgia as well as her six grandchildren. She is also survived by her father, Sherman Miller, of Iron City, her brother, Ricky A. Miller of Iron City, her special aunt, “Weasie” (Eloise Ingram), of Donalsonville, Georgia, as well as her nieces and nephews. Ranae was predeceased by her mother, her brother, Mike Miller, and her sister, Sandra Kay Scott. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Bainbridge-Decatur County Human Society, 1250 Cox Avenue, Bainbridge, Georgia 39819.
