Michael Burnett

February 4, 1954 — March 19, 2026

Bainbridge

Michael Leonard Burnett, born February 4, 1954, entered into heavenly rest on March 19, 2026. He was raised in Lakeland, Florida, and spent most of his adult life in Bainbridge, Georgia.

Michael loved Jesus and found great joy in sharing his musical talents in church and while ministering in nursing homes. A gifted musician, singer, artist, and poet, he expressed his faith and heart through his creativity. He was a kind and caring man with a tender heart of gold who deeply loved his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard A. Burnett; his mother, Peggy Woods (Burnett) Kirkpatrick; and his beloved cousin, Philip Bower.

Michael’s love extended to all of God’s creatures. In honor of his memory, contributions may be made to the ASPCA, a cause dear to his heart, reflecting his love for the dogs and cats that shared his life over the years.

In his final wishes, Michael shared, “Tell everyone I have loved all of them,” and expressed that music was truly “the song of my soul.”

Michael's ashes will be laid to rest at Kellyton Memory Gardens, Kellyton, Alabama, near his granny, Alva Autrey and step-grandaddy, Sylvester Aultrey.
