Mildred Barrett Caldwell, 90, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Berrien Nursing Center. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Mosley officiating, and will conclude at the church. Mildred was born February 8, 1924 in Geneva, AL, the daughter of James Carl Barrett and Ethel Ledbetter Barrett. She was a graduate of Geneva High School, Class of 1942. She worked for Ivey Funeral Home, Southern Airways, Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Company, and retired from the Georgia Department of Labor. A talented cook and seamstress, she was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Mary O'Quinn Sunday School Class, and the United Methodist Women. Survivors include her son, Forrest James Caldwell and his wife, Gina, of Adel, GA; her daughters, Carol Jean Hight and her husband, Eddie, of Bainbridge, GA and Mary Ann "Shangie" Holt and her husband, Dorsey, of Adel, GA; her special niece, Tammy Griffin and her husband, Keith, of Bainbridge, GA; her sister-in-law, Louise Barrett of Birmingham, AL; her grandchildren, Bo Caldwell, Brad Caldwell, Katie Caldwell, Perry Hight, Phillip Hight, Carlie Hight, Becky Holt Stanford, Brian Holt, and Sage Harris; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carroll Eugene Caldwell and Ralph M. Ivey; and her brother, James Vernon Barrett.
