Miles Dennis

Miles E. Dennis, 86, of Colquitt, GA, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy McNair and Rev. Royce Horne officiating and will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be at Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery. Brian Chambless, Jacob Dennis, Zim Johnson, Chris Logue, Roger Mills, and Jason Cox will serve as active pallbearers. Miles was born February 6, 1928 in Hialeah, FL, the son of Miles Edgar Dennis and Frankie Knight Dennis. He was a graduate of Ft. White High School, Class of 1946 and served in the U. S. Army. He was a retired shift supervisor for Engelhard Corporation and a member of Bellview Free Will Baptist Church near Colquitt, GA. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Nadine Hunt Dennis of Colquitt, GA; his daughter, Jill Dennis Brown and her husband, Don, of Colquitt, GA; his son, Miles Hunt Dennis and his wife, Jill, of Thomasville, GA; his grandchildren, Emily Brown, Lindsey Brown Chambless and her husband, Brian, Jacob Miles Dennis, and Julianne Dennis; and his great-grandson, Colton Brian Chambless.
