Mollie Renee´ Cross, age 65, died Friday, July 24, 2026, at her residence in Vada, Georgia.
Renee´ was born December 3, 1960, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to Alton and Betty Jane Davis Cross. Named after her maternal grandmother, Mollie Grace Davis, she was her father’s twin, all Cross through and through. A 1978 graduate of Bainbridge Christian Academy, she worked as a dispatcher, manager and safety director in the trucking industry. She was a lifetime member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Her favorite pastors were Rev. Alton Thomas and Dr. David Jeremiah. She loved watching Big Brother and Survivor with her sisters and was obsessed with QVC. She loved cooking and ALL kitchen gadgets. David Venable could sell her anything. She honored Mollie Grace Davis every year by making the “family dressing”. She loved farm fresh, grated field corn and rutabagas. She boasted of her parents all her life and was humbled to be their child. Renee´accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior on the night her baby sister was born, July 21, 1968, and on January 8, 1979, she led that same baby sister to accept Jesus as her Savior. Renee´ was a selfless person in a selfish world.
She sacrificed her wants for others’ needs. Her unconditional love for her older sister, Pamela Jane Cross, was amazing to witness. By Renee´s sacrifice to leave her home and live and care for her older sister, Pamela was able to remain in her home until her death in 2024. If Renee´ loved
you – you were told and you felt her love at every meeting. Her greatest gift was being a peacemaker. Renee´s health declined in the last decade drastically leaving her bedbound and she considered herself unimportant; however, she remained humble, kind, and encouraged others through phone calls and snail mail letters, yes, the handwritten kind.
Her best friend in life was Edna Glover Meadows. No truer friends ever existed. She is preceded in death by her sister, Pamela Jane Cross. She was survived by Rhonda Cross Jarrett and her husband, Kenneth of Sylvester, Georgia, and her fur babies, Pickles and Little Edna. Her words to everyone: Just give me Jesus!
A private family service will be held graveside at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
