Myrle Jordan Herring, a resident of Bainbridge, Georgia, was born in Malone, Florida on October 31, 1923. She entered Heaven's gates on December 17, 2017.The family will greet friends at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Ivey Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. (EST) Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Malone, Florida with Rev. Tim Dean officiating.A consummate mother, homemaker and hair stylist, Myrle was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Myrle was passionate about her yard. She worked fall, winter, spring and summer no matter the temperature in the yard. But her greatest passion in life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Myrle had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church, Bainbridge, Georgia. She was a member of Joy Lite Sunday School. Over the years she became very involved with the church and assisted with many activities in the church.The family gives all her caregivers at Riverside Assisted Living, Bainbridge Healthcare and everyone else who cared for Myrle their deepest gratitude.Myrle was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Herring, 2005; her father, Onnie Jordan; mother, Verna Jordan; brother, Grady Jordan and brother, Raymond Jordan. She is survived by her children, Peggy H. Shingler, Vicki H. Lawrence (Farrell), Bill Herring (Jenny), Christy H. Poitevint (Steve); her grandchildren, Mary Margaret Hyatt (Doug), Paul Shingler (Sara), Heather Keperling (Brian), Laura Finney (Tim), Phillip Poitevint (Whitney), Jordan Gilbert (Taylor), Preston Poitevint, Cade Herring, Jake Herring (Jordan) and 6 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Marjorie Bell, Pensacola, Florida; 1 brother, Pat Jordan (Veneeda), Malone, Florida, and 2 sisters-in-law, Anginette Jordan, Malone, Florida and Melda Jordan, Tallahassee, Florida.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Morningside Baptist Church, P. O. Box 7009, Bainbridge, Georgia 39818, and First Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 7067, Bainbridge, Georgia 39818.
