Myrtle Jones Sanford, 90, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Fayetteville, GA. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Gerald A. Little officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy, FL. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2015 prior to the funeral service. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Sanford was born July 14, 1924 in Leonia, FL, the daughter of Luther Jones and Vonie Mae Helms Jones. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years and was a member of First Presbyterian. Mrs. Sanford enjoyed reading, sewing, making jewelry and crossword puzzles. Survivors include her daughter, Raye Fletcher and her husband, John, of Hampton, GA; her siblings, Polly Whithead and her husband, Devon, of Aliquippa, PA, Doris Bell and her husband, Jack, of Defuniak Springs, FL; her grandchildren, Christine Powell and her husband, Eddie, of Marysville, CA, Nicki Henning and her husband, Jim, of Benicia, CA, Trey Fletcher and his wife, Leanne, of Hampton, GA, and Luke Fletcher of Hampton, GA; her great-grandchildren, Samantha Vantress, Grace Vantress, Nathan Henning, and Greta Henning; and her sister-in-law, Grace Jones of Valdosta, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Sanford, Jr; her daughter, Barbara "Babs" Elizabeth Sanford Thisius; and her brothers, Luther Jones, Ralph Jones and Frank Jones.
