Myrtle Lynn Spooner, 70, of Attapulgus, GA, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021. The graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Cool Springs Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines. Myrtle Alyce Lynn was born August 17, 1950 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Wesley and Eunice Mills Lynn. She was a graduate of Rickards High School and Lively Vo-Tech. Myrtle married Michael Spooner in 2001 and they made their home in Attapulgus. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. Myrtle knew her way around a keyboard. She worked for years as a medical transcriptionist and was pretty tech savvy with computer games. She had a soft spot for all animals, but her feline friends were treated like royalty. Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Herbert Michael "Mike" Spooner; her sons, Jason R. Spooner and his wife, Zeida, of Green Cove Springs, FL and Kevin R. Spooner of Tallahassee, FL; her sister, Margaret Louise Boyd of Tallahassee, FL; and her cats, Odie, McDonald, Bunny and Mattie. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Eunice Lynn.
