Mrs. Nannie Carolyn Bishop Singletary, age 73, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016, in Cairo, Georgia. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 18, at Eastside Baptist Church in Thomasville, Georgia. The Rev. J. Tim Robson will be officiating. Although the service will conclude at the church, Mrs. Singletary will be interred in Rawls Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 1:00. Nannie Carolyn Bishop was born December 26, 1942, in Grady County, Georgia, to Edwin Woodrow Bishop and Mary Belle Rich Bishop. She married Cecil William Singletary, who preceded her in death, December 16, 2009. Carolyn was a devout Christian and member of Eastside Baptist Church. Mrs. Singletary was a devoted wife and mother. She will be deeply missed by the family she loves so much. Carolyn is survived by her sons, Blair Singletary and wife, Janice, Wilton Singletary, and Douglas Singletary, all of Cairo; brother, B.W. Bishop and wife, Sharon of Thomasville, Georgia; sisters, Charlene Underwood and husband, Jack, Linda Stewart and husband, Kenneth, and Lerlene Hawkins of Statesville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Amber C. Singletary of Rome, Georgia, Melony S. Singletary of Statesboro, Georgia, Lindsey Singletary and husband, Daniel of Cairo, and Jonathan D. Singletary and wife, Jessica of Cairo; and great grandchildren, Tucker Singletary and Tara Singletary of Cairo. She was preceded in death by her parents. Also preceding her in death was her brother and his wife, William E. Bishop and Sarah.
