Nell Hambrick

Mrs. Nell Funderburk Hambrick, 88, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2009 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephen L. Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery. Mrs. Hambrick was born August 19, 1920 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Horace B. Funderburk and Marijo Carmichael Funderburk. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and Georgia State College for Women, and was a retired claims representative for the Social Security Administration. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Everette Hambrick. Survivors include two sons, Wayne Hambrick and his wife Wanda of Canton, GA, and Wallace Hambrick and his wife Susan of Lawrenceville, GA; a daughter, Jane Douglas and her husband Bob of Marietta, GA; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
