Mrs. Nell Hale Ward, 85, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Monday, July 30, 2007 at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville, GA. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2007 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen L. Webb officiating. Interment will be at Oak City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Ward was born January 20, 1922 in Bainbridge, GA to the late John Clifford Hale and Minnie Rainey Hale. She graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1939 and was a bookkeeper for Gilbert H. Gragg Library for many years. Mrs. Ward was a member of First United Methodist Church and was in the Mary O'Quinn Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Norris Ward. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Ward Dudley and husband Sherman of Douglas, GA, and Linda Nell Ward Gross and husband Bill of Marietta, GA; four grandchildren, Dr. Paul S. Dudley of Seattle, WA, Mary Catherine Schmitt of Marietta, GA, Matthew C. Gross and Kristin L. Gross, both of Atlanta, GA; and three great-grandchildren, Nila Dudley, Priya Dudley, and Claire Schmitt.
