Norman Jackson Pyles, age 86, of Cairo, Georgia, passed away, Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana. A service to honor Norman will be held at Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo on Thursday, October 9th, 2025. The family will receive visitors at 10:00 am and the memorial service to follow at 11:00 am.
Norman was born November 10, 1938, in Cairo, Georgia to Paul Pyles and Nannie Jule Cook Pyles. A graduate of Cairo High School, he was in the class of 1957. In November of 1958 he married the love of his life, Mary Lucy Miller. A member of Eastside Baptist Church since childhood, he worked hard in the church and shared his love for the Lord. Norman was a deacon and Sunday School Director for many years. Norman spent most of his career selling life and health insurance. For 64 years he and Mary shared their lives in Cairo and moved to Bossier City, LA in 2022 to be closer to their daughter and family. Norman was a dedicated husband, father, and friend to many. He loved his family. Norman will be deeply missed by his many friends and loving family.
Norman Pyles is survived by his children, Ken Pyles of Utah, Kay Zeigler of Bossier City; grandchildren, Randy Zeigler and wife Chelby, Brandi Free, Brooke Johnston and husband Tyler, all of Bossier City, LA and 9 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary M. Pyles, parents Paul and Nannie Pyles, and grandson, Kenny Pyles.
