Ocie Hawkins Baty, 83, of Attapulgus, GA, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee, FL. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Attapulgus Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Bishop, Rev. Jack House and Rev. David Fell officiating. Interment will follow at Attapulgus Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Billy Brown, Randy Daniels, Steven Vines, Jr., Keith Medley, Brad Mathis and Robin Ramer serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Baty was born March 16, 1925 in Decatur County, GA. She was a homemaker and a member of Attapulgus Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Shorty" Baty and her brother, John H. Hawkins. Survivors include two sons, Robert Baty and wife Janice of Attapulgus, GA and Mike Baty of Attapulgus, GA; three daughters, Sheila and husband Tommy Logue of Tallahassee, FL, Barbara Hicks of Tallahassee, FL and Cathy Clemons of Tallahassee, FL; twelve grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren; and her puppy and constant companion, Sassy.
